I spent today doing research on Inattentive Type ADHD because the last time I saw my GP he didn’t seem to really know anything about it and a while ago i noted down a typical few minutes of what happens in my mind, I thought it might be a good idea to give write it in my notebook so he has an example, then I figured perhaps it may have some use to someone on here if they’re looking for a way to explain what happens when they’re distracted (it’s not just the classic “OOH A SHINY THING”)
‘Between removing my phone from my pocket to writing this down, i got distracted by:thinking about tomorrow’s plans, who’d be at work with me today, trying to remember the name of the breed of dog walking in front of me, forgetting why i got my phone out in the first place, remembering i sometimes get distracted by imagining i’m explaining to someone how i get distracted then proceeding to imagine i’m explaining to someone how i get distracted, making plans for after i get paid, decide on writing all this stuff down in a journal, wondering if there’s a place near work I can buy a nice notebook…I still don’t remember why I got my phone out in the first place.”
